Garment Construction - 1. Tailoring

Tailoring is to make a garment especially to fit a persons measurements.

Here's a quick video I found on the Dolce and Gabbana website which shows the process of tailoring in their fashion houses.

Dolce and Gabbana insight to tailoring

Classic examples of tailoring.. all the clothes fitting the models requirements. Clean cut lines hugging the models figure.

The nice thing about this six piece collection is that all of the lines of the clothes are perfectly tailored to give nice clean lines and a feel of sophistication. They fit all of the models perfectly.

The thing that jumped at me about this collection is the mixture of contemporary designs and tailoring. This is probably my favourite collection to come across while researching tailoring. The whole collection gives off a mood of uniforms (army, minor, labourers). AMAZING collection.

Emilio Pucci Fall/Winter 12/13

Emilio's Pucci Fall/Winter 12/13 collection is filled with garments that have been tailored to the models requirements. In this tightly structured collection the garments hold slashes on the material which gives the collection a little punk edge.
