Chewiing Gum Idea....

 So for my first illustration idea i decided to go with the idea of chewing gum. I covered the shell in information.. i came up with this because i was thinking how you don't actually digest chewing gum instead you just swallow the flavor. So the idea is that if you eat one of the information gums that tha information will seep into your brain. So these are the little things i got my inspiration from....

 So then i made my own 3D models of the chewingum so i could play around with them and take pictures of them instead of just having a heap of drawings. 

I made these out of wire mesh covered in news print then covered them in information. I like this idea i think for my final piece i will add a chewing gum wrapper using Photoshop (which I'm incredibly bad at).

Ideas for Illuistration

So i took a few pictures around the apartment today for ideas for my finished piece...

So the idea with the plate of books is that you digest the information with different objects then a knife and fork because its for your brain instead of your stomach.

I always use sticky notes as a way of remembering information so i stuck them on the fridge (a bit too literal) and i put them in a bowl as well as that's associated with food and digestion.

Final Typography Piece :) :)

SO.. after all my research this is the typography piece i decided to present as my final image. I know it looks simple but that's one of the things I like about it. I like the use of different fonts in this piece of typography and repeating the words over and over gives the impression of loads of information which the viewer has to try and digest. I'm very happy with this piece (and the fact i manage to use photoshop correctly :) ) It was one of my simpler designs but i think its the most effective to get the meaning of this metaphor across.

Final two ideas for Typography

So i selected these two ideas as i think they show the meaning of my metaphor through typography.

Ideas #1.....

So the idea behind this one is that the word 'information' has been engulfed by the word 'digest'. The movement if the word information shows how its being digest and the numerous amount of different letters show how there is alot of information.

Idea #2...

So the idea behind this is that there is lots of information going on and the viewer has to try and digest it. I used different fonts and colors to give the impression that all the words have been extracted from different pieces of information.

I think idea #2 is the most effective but we'll see what people opinions are on Friday :)

So here is some of my ideas  for typography. I simply just messed around with the meaning of the words and these are some of the ideas i came up with.....

Visual Communications

So today was my first day of vis com and we got our metaphors we'll be working on for the next two weeks. My metaphor is 'DIGEST THE INFORMATION'. I think this means to take in information you've just received and to think about it. How I'm going to use typography and illustration is unknown to me at this stage but I'm sure after lots of research I'll think of something.

Fashion Day 4!

So yesterday i went back on the stand manipulating my shapes to see if any new ideas came to mind...

And then today i did mainly sketchbook work just experiment with these designs on diferent parts of the body. here a a few of my sketchbook pages.. 

I'm really enjoying this elective.. i feeel in my element here. The long nights and early mornings are paying off. So now for the next few days im gonna carry on with this sketchbook work... push it as far as i can and hopefully come up with some pretty neat designs.
